THE SCOPE OF LAWFUL TERMINATION OF CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT IN CAMEROON

There are circumstances under which a contract of employment in Cameroon can be terminated legally. These circumstances when they arise provide a constrain in the relationship between a worker and an employer whether the contract of employment is for specified duration or unspecified duration. In the majority of cases, it is the employer who takes upon the initiative to terminate a contract of employment. This is the case of dismissal. If the worker is the person to terminate the contract of employment, it is called resignation.

Apart from the termination of a contract of employment by the will of the parties, there are other compelling circumstances such as force majeure, economic and technical problems, incapacity, discipline and act of the state.
