(GENERAL PROVISION)
An optician within the meaning of this law No. 99/001 of 7 April 1999 relating to the exercise and organizing of the profession of optician shall be any person who holds either a diploma of an optician or a diploma of optician optometrist or any other title recognized by the competent authority of the country where it was obtained, subject to its equivalence in Cameroon.
The optician is authorized;
– to fit, adapt and check any optical equipment, of whatever nature, intended to compensate for defects in vision ;
– use all technical means or advise on hygiene and training to improve vision.
The optician optometrist, in addition to the duties of an optician, is empowered to formulate and design any optical equipment, of whatever nature, intended to compensate for anomalies of vision.
